Jim’s career in the areas of mental health and addictions treatment began over thirty years ago. He has worked with adolescent, young adult, and adult populations from different backgrounds and cultures, all with a variety of issues and concerns. Jim has worked in out-patient mental health and addiction programs as well as short and long term residential treatment programs. Jim completed a Master’s Degree in Counseling and is a current member of both the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, as well as the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors.
Twenty-five years ago, Jim’s own spiritual path and personal recovery took shape and has grown to include 12-step support group meetings in addition to traditional spiritual practices. Jim brings into every interaction with clients his gratitude for sobriety, and his love of working with individuals who have so much to offer to their families and communities once they embrace the gifts of balance and recovery.
