Kristin graduated with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and completed the VCC Counselling Skills Foundational program, both of which included practicum placements at Orchard Recovery Center. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University and worked as a practicing kinesiologist for 16 years.
With extensive experience in mental health and addictions, chronic pain, brain injury, neurodiversity, and various comorbidities, Kristin adopts an eclectic counselling approach. Her methodologies include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), as well as Mindfulness-Based and Existential practices, tailored to the individual needs of her clients. Grounded in Person-Centered Therapy, she highlights the importance of empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard when working with clients.
Kristin is dedicated to recovery, both her own and that of those she supports at Orchard Recovery Center. She enjoys working alongside a team that genuinely cares, together going the extra mile to help each person navigate life’s challenges while striving towards personal growth and a renewed sense of fulfillment.
