Are you government funded?
We do not receive funding from the government. We are a private – self pay recovery centre. Please call 604-947-0420 (Vancouver area) or 1-866-233-2299 Toll Free if you would like assistance with recommendations for government funded facilities.
What are your lengths of stay?
We have 28 and 42 day stays. We also have an “Introduction to Treatment” 12 day stay where clients can see if the program is right for them with the possibility of extending to one of our full programs.
How much does your program cost?

Do you offer detox to clients?
Yes, we offer on-site medical detox for alcohol and certain drugs. Please call our intake team to discuss your unique situation. Upon admission, the doctor will assess each client and prescribe a medication detox protocol based on each individual’s needs. Medical records may be required before intake if you have a pre-existing medical condition.
Do you have medical staff?
Yes, we have a full range of medical professionals, which include accredited addiction specialists who assess all clients upon intake. We also have RN/RPN/LPN nursing staff who are on site during office hours and overnight.
Do you a psychiatrist?
Yes, we are privileged to have on our staff Dr. Chodkiewicz, or “Dr. C,” who is a psychiatrist and addiction medicine specialist, with more than 20 years of experience. Dr. C. is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine. Please Note: At present, our psychiatrist can only see Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents or Landed Immigrants with a valid Canadian Health Card.
Do you take concurrent disorders?
Yes, we take clients who have co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, BPD, etc. however, all clients must have a primary issue of substance use disorder.
Do you take clients with eating disorders?
We cannot accommodate clients with clinically diagnosed active eating disorders. However, clients with a previous history who are currently stable and have a primary issue of substance use disorder can be accommodated. Please call for further information.
Is this a co-ed facility?
Yes, we are a coed facility; however, there are times in the daily schedule that are gender specific.
Do you have private rooms?
Rooms are mostly shared accommodations. We may accommodate a single room due to complicated medical issues.
Do you have a gym?
Yes, we have a large, fully equipped fitness center with cardio equipment, free weights, kettle balls, a boxing bag, stationary equipment, and washrooms with lockers and showers.
Do you have a swimming pool?
Yes, we have a seasonal swimming pool. (May to September).
Do you allow visitors?
At the current time we do NOT allow visitors to the centre. All family programming is on Zoom.
Do you allow passes?
At the current time we do NOT allow any offsite passes. Clients are not allowed offsite without staff.
Do you allow dogs?
We are unable to accommodate clients bringing their pets to treatment with them. There are dog boarding services on Bowen Island including, Bowen Island Dog Ranch and Wagsville Dog Camp.
Do you take people on methadone/Suboxone?
Yes, we accept clients currently taking methadone or Suboxone.
Do you detox with methadone/Suboxone?
Yes, our doctors will discuss your drug use history and determine which medications best fit your needs.
Can I bring my car?
No, we cannot accommodate personal vehicles in our parking lot for the duration of your stay. This is due to safety issues and storage space at our facility. Please call if you have further questions.
Can I bring bring my phone/computer?
Clients are allowed to use their personal cell phones or laptop computers from 4:00pm to 4:45pm Monday-Friday.
Clients requiring access outside these times can discuss possible access with Management prior to attending our centre.
Please note: Clients are not allowed to keep their personal electronics and it will need to be signed in and out during the designated times.
Please note: There are cordless phones and a computer available at designated times for clients without personal phones.
Please note: There are tablets available on Sunday during the day for FaceTime access with family members.
What time/day do I need to arrive?
We ask that clients arrive on one of the morning ferries from the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal. The 9:05 am or 10:15 am departures are preferred. No intakes will be facilitated in the afternoons. Please see see the Bowen Island Ferry Schedule for departure times.
Please note: You are leaving from the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal in West Vancouver and going to Snug Cove Terminal on Bowen Island. The ferry crossing is approximately 20 minutes.
Please note: Ferry cut off time is 10 minutes prior to departure time.
Can you arrange transportation from the airport?
We are unable to provide airport pickups.
The Vancouver International Airport has excellent taxi or limo services available at the terminal and Uber/Lyft are also available from the airport.
Can I claim the cost of treatment as a medical expense on my income tax?
Our primary program is recognized as a valid medical expense and can be claimed on your tax return.
What happens if I have cold/flu symptoms prior to admission?
If you feel sick and suspect that you may have the flu or other respiratory illness, please call us in advance to inform us of your situation and reschedule your intake at a future date.
