Elize Fitzgerald is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BCACC. She believes that supportive therapy can provide a roadmap to intentional change through increased self-knowledge, greater self-worth, and acceptance of present-moment reality. Her counselling perspective is strengths-based, client-centered and collaborative. She believes every person deserves a life of connection and meaning free from the pain of addiction.
Elize has an MA in Counselling Psychology, an MA in Modern Art & Theory and additional psychotherapy training in: Internal Family Systems (IFS); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Narrative Therapy; Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR); CBT; and knowledge of the 12-step philosophy of AA/NA. She has worked with people experiencing a range of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, attachment trauma, life transitions and chronic pain. She has more than 10 years of experience working with people in early recovery from alcohol and drug abuse.
Elize is originally from London, UK now happily transplanted to beautiful Bowen Island where she lives with her family and her beloved little dog.
